Port Security Grant Information

JMTX has been designated by the Captain of the Port to serve as the Fiduciary Agent (FA) of the PSGP for the port of Jacksonville. PSGP funds are primarily intended to create a sustainable, risk-based effort to protect critical port infrastructure from terrorism, particularly attacks using explosives and non-conventional threats that could cause major disruption to commerce. The PSGP provides grant funding to port areas for enhancing maritime domain awareness, expansion of port recovery and resiliency capabilities, enhancing risk management capabilities to prevent, detect, respond to and recover from attacks involving improvised explosive devices, Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, Explosive (CBRNE), and other non-conventional weapons, as well as training and exercises and Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) implementation.

Once projects are submitted to FEMA, they undergo a 3-phase approval process:  The ESC/National Review Panel, the Budget review and EHP review.  The Budget and EHP reviews are conducted concurrently.  Once JMTX receives a memo from FEMA stating that the funding for a particular project has been released, JMTX will notify project managers immediately and they may begin their projects.
