Port Security Committee to meet May 2, 2012

The next meeting of the Port Security Committee will be held at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at the FDLE ROC, located at 921 N. Davis St.  Here is the agenda.

Free Port Security Training

FSO’s/VSO’s/Port Stakeholders,

JMTX is partnering with Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ) to provide free port security courses to local port stakeholders through the FY11 Port Security Grant.   JMTX will manage the associated reports and responsibilities associated with the grant.  Attendees will be billed a nominal coordination fee of $25 by JMTX per seat upon completion of the course.

This flyer describes the ten courses that are available through FSCJ and eligible under this grant program. The goal of this initiative is to educate local port stakeholders in order to more effectively mitigate port security risks in the port of Jacksonville and Fernandina.  Federal employees are unfortunately not eligible to receive grant funding or participate in this training.

Please reply to Ed Clancy (E.F.Clancy@fscj.edu) with:

1)  The name of the course(s) your company or agency is interested in
2)  Number of personnel interested in attending the course(s)

Mr. Clancy will develop a tentative course schedule based on responses and email to interested stakeholders.  Although we request that attendee estimations are as accurate as possible, your response will not commit your company to these seats.

If interested, please respond prior to May 1.   Please direct all course related questions to Ed Clancy: (904) 632-5033.

We appreciate your response,

Jim McLaughlin
